Twitter asks the gay community to remove and boycott Grindr • Instinct Magazine

George Arison is Grindr’s new CEO. Georga Arison is an ultra-conservative, ultra-right-wing, ultra-Trumper, ultra-Republican, probably homophobic, used-car salesman. Grindr is “the world’s largest social networking app for gay, bi, trans and queer people.” In December, the number of members passed the 11 million mark. That’s millions and millions of dollars in the pocket of someone actively voting to strip us of our hard-won rights.

In a video posted on their TikTok schxleo call Arison at “Resign – we don’t support gay people who support anti-gay politicians.” PREACH! In the video, Borcht Belt Barbie explains,

“[Arison] has far too much praise for really, really homophobic politicians, including Trump and Mitch McConnell. People who want to completely undermine LGBT rights in this country. »

According TheirGrindr has a not so great history of hiring people who don’t support the community they take advantage of,

“In 2018, Scott Chen, then president of the company, wrote in a Facebook post that he agreed that marriage is a ‘sacred marriage between a man and a woman’. The post was written to condemn anti-gay marriage campaigns in Taiwan while saying that his personal stance was based on religion, but that he would not support companies that donated to anti-marriage efforts.

Outrage is growing in the queer community, and rightly so. Arison supports Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin’s candidacy for president. Youngkin vehemently opposes same-sex marriage and transgender equality and calls on schools to take students away from their parents. Damn no. He doesn’t deserve our money. Our community members are asking users to delete the app and tap Grindr where it hurts the most: their wallet.

What do we think of these Instinctors? Grindr users, does this information make you want to delete the app? Why or why not? Sound off in the comments below.
