Thursday, November 24 | 2pm-5pm | Billy Sunday Charlotte | Free
Our fourth annual inclusive Thanksgiving dinner keeps the same mission: to spread love and food to our underserved members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Queen City Nerve partners with Billy Sunday (1115 N. Brevard Street, Unit 1) to host a free dinner on Thanksgiving Day for anyone seeking community care. Unfortunately, members of the LGBTQIA+ community are often excluded from family functions during the holidays and we work together to provide a safe space for fun.
For the third year, we are partnering with Block Love CLT. This is to make sure that all of our leftovers (not those on the plates) go to a good home. Block Love CLT is a local non-profit organization that sets up shop in Uptown daily to serve dinner to our homeless neighbors, and twice a week for breakfast. Then all of their remains are distributed to encampments and shelters around town to spread the love. All of our leftovers will be boxed and contribute to their mission of spreading the love of bouldering.
We organize this event on the basis of donations. We ask that you, if you wish and are able, donate your time or food and supplies to this effort. Below is a form to submit what you are able to contribute to the dinner. Please select one of all the options you are able to donate. Check back to have the form updated with what’s still needed before the event.
Food and supply drop-off instructions will be sent to your inbox after you submit a donation form. Please include your email so we can keep in touch with you!
We offer curbside pickup for anyone who does not feel comfortable being inside the space for dinner.
Although restrictions have been eased significantly since our last Eat, Gay, Love event, we are still working to ensure the safety of all of our volunteers and guests. Current guidance from the CDC on how to better protect yourself and understand the risks visible on their site.
