One of the most loved and watched pan-Indian films RRR broke many box office records soon after its release. Starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film was directed by director Baahubali SS Rajamouli. To make it a PAN India film, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn are also a key part of the film. A few days after its release, RRR crossed the 1000 crore mark at the global box office. But since this morning, the film has been in the news for quite different reasons. Read on for the scoop.
In case you haven’t watched it yet, director SS Rajamouli is set against the backdrop of the pre-independence era (circa 1920s) which sees two real life revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, performed by Ram Charan and Jr NTR respectively.
Recently, Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty became the talk of the town when he poked fun at RRR. That’s what happened when Resul took to Twitter to respond to writer-director Munish Bhardwaj’s tweet that called director SS Rajamouli “trash.” He tweeted: “I saw 30 minutes of trash called RRR last night.” Re-tweet the same, Resul Pookutty not only called it gay love but also called Alia Bhatt a prop.
Resul Pookutty retweeted Munish Bhardwaj’s Teet and wrote, “Gay love story…”. However, he further added, “…and @aliaa08 is a prop in this movie…” Little did he know his tweet would anger the troll. The award-winning sound designer received backlash for his tweets and his fans didn’t expect it to come from such a veteran.
Gay love story….

Replying to him, one user wrote, “There are hundreds of reasons to like RRR but you chose hate,” while another said, “How important is Rashmika to Pushpa besides calling saami saami and that stupid van scene? Alia At least has a standout scene. Better check your own movies first. Another said: “Homophobic alert. He makes fun of a movie by calling it “gay”. @TheAcademy what you awarded with an oscar? Check out some tweets below:
Sure, coming from a cuckold who won the Oscar for one of the worst movies of all time glorifying slums who can’t stomach the dharmic portrayal of a shameless Hindu katatar SS Rajamouli, who you hustle for hate ☺️ https://t.co/beGcUZHTTe

Why do you tweet badly about #RRR when the whole world is taking pictures? Do you feel jealous for not having spoken to you in the film? I lost respect for you with that tweet man. People like you should be boycotted from Telugu industry. @ssrajamouli @RRRMovie @mmkeeravaani https://t.co/cnpXNxaxJM

Dude, he’s a Muslim and he must have viewed Rrr as a movie that brags about Hindu nationalism dispelling Hindutva. They have always had a religious prism through which they view the world. https://t.co/wDlhBBdXRM

I don’t know why ungrateful fools like this go to work in telugu biggies despite doing substandard work. No other industry offers great projects to this mf
Hire someone better for #PushpaTheRule don’t let it ruin it like the first part. @MythriOfficial @ThisIsDSP https://t.co/fvrJAs0n5t

It’s disrespectful to both the film and the LGBTQ community. https://t.co/j2khhdU7lp

It’s actually an insult to the #LGBTQ community, did any of the characters in the movie confirm they were gay?! you can’t use #LGBTQ to express your disgust. https://t.co/LrXsRk5kCx

It’s by an Oscar-winning artist. Besides being Hinduphobic, homophobic too. And people imitate these people as their icons. Kashtam https://t.co/xfFgGVYglS

I mean you may not like the movie, but such a comment from an academy winner is nasty. I’m sure he’s not even kidding https://t.co/Hr8G3cg30K

Well, this isn’t the first time someone has called NTR and Ram Charan’s bromance “gay love.” Previously, many international viewers tweeted after watching the movie.
