Ray J pushes for “Ray Pride”, supporting the gay community

Many celebrities took time out of their busy schedules to show their love to the LGBTQ community during Pride Month, including singer Ray J. The ‘One Wish’ crooner recently took to social media to show his love to gay men around the world. Plus, Ray J has gotten so excited about celebrating the LGBTQ community that he wants to push for “Ray Pride.”

Ray J supports gay men

Ray J, like other celebrities, really took the lead this month in supporting the gay community. During an Instagram livestream on June 6, the R&B singer encouraged more “straight men to show love to gay men”. Additionally, the singer gave a lengthy speech about families standing up for their gay loved ones and children. Moreover, he even shouted at his queer friends in the entertainment industry.

Throughout the video, Ray J revealed that he was trying to learn about the gay community. Additionally, the 41-year-old detailed an experience he had performing at an event featuring gay strippers.

“I tried to stay away and let them do their thing,” Ray J said in the Livestream.

Despite the uncomfortable situation at the time, the singer claimed that he was fully supportive of gay men. I guess that counts as excellent first-hand knowledge of the gay scene.

Plus, Ray J even tried to lobby for his own celebrity-inspired Pride Month sponsorship. He referred to the celebration by his own name, inventing “Ray Pride”. At first, the singer’s intentions seemed sincere. Arguably, after occasionally dropping snippets of “let’s get that money,” his message doesn’t sound so honorific.

He even added the following comment: “Straight money is crazy money and gay money is happy money.”

Let’s hope Ray J doesn’t use the gay community as a means of financial gain and instead supports them.
