“I exercise because I’m bulimic and have struggled with body dysmorphia since I was a little boy.

“Going to the gym is my way of keeping things under control. It makes me feel like I have a little hold on the rudder of my life.

“I also listen to classical music while working out, so it gives me some time to get away from this very busy world that we all share.”

John added, “But please, if you’re going to post platitudinal screenshots of kindness and caring, please put that into practice.

He revealed that he had only come to terms with his eating disorder for a year and a half and that it had been difficult to overcome.

He said: “My body image growing up was very difficult… I was so aware of being fat.

“But one thing that I was aware of as being problematic for 12, 14 years was overeating and then purging.

“Forcing the food down, then this instant urge to get that out of me.” “

He added, “If I was making a batch of muffins and something was wrong with my life that day, or around that time, I would sit there and eat all 12 muffins, then run to the bathroom.” and I would make myself sick.
