Eat, Gay, Love: Thank with friends

Our third annual inclusive Thanksgiving Dinner continues the same mission: to spread love and food to our underserved members of the LGBTQIA + community.

Queen City Nerve is now partnering with Billy Sunday (1115 N. Brevard Street, Unit 1) to host a free Thanksgiving Day dinner for anyone seeking community care. Unfortunately, members of the LGBTQIA + community are often excluded from family functions while on vacation and we work together to provide a safe space for fun.

Prepared for COVID

Although the restrictions have been relaxed significantly since our last Eat, Gay, Love event, we are still working to ensure the safety of all of our volunteers and guests. Masks will be required in all indoor spaces while standing or as directed by Mecklenburg County Public Health at the time of the event.

Seats will be distributed and we’ll have more space than in previous years to make sure any contagion has room to fuck off.

Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event will be required for all registrants who wish to enjoy the event in person.

Community care

For the second year, we are in partnership with Block Love CLT. This is to make sure that all of our leftovers (not those on the plates) go to a good home. Block Love CLT is a local non-profit organization that sets up in Uptown daily to serve dinner to our homeless neighbors and twice a week for breakfast. Then all their leftovers are distributed to camps and shelters around town to spread love. All of our leftovers will be wrapped up and contribute to their mission of spreading the love of blocks.

We organize this event on the basis of donations. We ask that you, if you wish and can, donate your time or food and supplies to this effort. Below is a form to submit what you are able to contribute to the dinner. Please select one of all the options you can donate. Check back for the form to be updated with what is still needed before the event.

Food and supplies drop-off instructions will be sent to your inbox after submitting a donation form. Please include your email so we can keep in touch with you!

We offer curbside pickup for anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable being inside the space for dinner.
